A list of pre-selected/available topics (to be announced)
1. Residual stresses - definitions and types 2. Residual stresses in welded joints (WJ) - evaluation 3. Residual stresses in WJ - measurements - stress relaxation 4. Residual stresses in WJ - measurements - other and physical methods 5. Residual stresses in WJ - distribution and values 6. Residual stresses in WJ - methods for minimizing 7. Residual deformations in WJ - shrinkage 8. Residual deformations in WJ - distortion 9. Residual deformations in WJ - methods for minimizing
Apart from the listed, candidates may select topics for themselves - under the condition that the topics are related to the course programme and approved by the professor (refer to the upper link: "available topics"). Topics that belong to other areas, not covered in this course, cannot be selected, e.g. - welding technology - NDE of WJ - joining techniques in WJ - integrity of welded structures - behaviour of WJ in exploitation - reliability of WJ - fracture of welded structures - repair of welded structures - quality assurance and control of WJ
