Dear networking colleague,

This year's TERENA Networking Conference (TNC2011) begins today, Monday 16
May. Live streaming is due to begin at 14.00 CEST when the opening plenary
presentation is given by Jaroslav Koča of Masaryk University, Czech
Republic, revealing how networks enable his work in biomedical research.

Around 500 people are attending the conference, which also features online
presentation materials for those who cannot be there in person.

The conference, with the theme 'Enabling Comunities', continues until 12.30
CEST on Thursday. The closing plenary will be delivered by John Wilbanks of
Creative Commons, looking at open access and how openness is vital to the
transformational power of the Internet. In addition to four more plenary
talks, each day will include parallel sessions of presentations on a diverse
range of topics.

All streams are available live and will be made available in archive form
immediately after each session. Most of the slides and some of the papers
can be downloaded by clicking on the relevant session in the programme, at
https://tnc2011.terena.org/core/schedule/list.

For the first time TERENA is also using HTML5 video to enable playback of
conference streams on iOS devices such as iPads and iPhones.

Streaming is undertaken by a technical team with members from AV MEDIA a.s.
and CESNET, the Czech national research and education network which is also
kindly hosting the event.
