RAKIN, Sc.D.
Having been the manager
of the Chemical Power Sources Institute (IHIS) and later on general director
of Holding Corp., Dr. Rakin has also been engaged in R & D projects
as follows: oxygen/hydrogen fuel cells with alkaline electrolyte, development
of Ag-Zn batteries and industrial technology, development of batteries
for aircraft and small submarines, development of production technology
of Ni-Cd batteries with sintered electrodes; aircraft batteries, development
of production technology of Hg-Zn batteries, button type, from 0.250 Ah
to 10.0 Ah, development of special batteries for military purposes, development
of technology of MnO2/Zn batteries
with alkaline electrolyte (high-capacity prismatic types), development
of electric vehicles, research in the field of solar and wind energy (1975-1985:
co-ordinator of the Serbia state project for wind energy research), development
of Ni-MH batteries, electrochemistry of fullerene - development of NiC60Hx
batteries and fullerene hydride as a new material for hydrogen storage
He is Member in following
International and Yugoslav Societies: International Electrochemistry Society,
with headquarters in Zurich, INTERBAT, a society gathering manufacturers
and scientific & research institutes from former socialistic countries,
with headquarters in Moscow, he is a president of the Managing Board of
DIT (Association of Engineers and Technicians for Electrochemical Power
Sources and Electrical Converters (Yugoslavia).
Dr. Rakin is the author
of numerous scientific and technical papers and a great number of realised
R & D projects.
