Election, duties and rights of the Society members


Membership of the society may include domestic and foreign citizens that have achieved important results in development of science or application of scientific knowledge. 

New members are elected on the Society Assembly after the nomination process and evaluation of the candidates. 

The nominations are submitted in writing by the Society department or two individual members or a scientific or professional institution. The nomination should include all relevant information that may be needed for evaluation of the nominee. 

According to the report of two members of the Society who present the CV and selected references of the nominee in addition to the information on the scientific contribution with which he influenced development of theory and practice in his selected field, the nominee is elected by the Assembly. 

The election is carried out by secret ballot, where over two thirds of the present membership is required for the election. 

Rights and obligations of the members of the Society are:

  • to carry on their scientific activities within the Society and present the results of their studies, 
  • to participate in the activities of the Assembly and departments of the Society,
  • to participate in all activities of the Society aimed at realization of the stated aims, 
  • to elect and be elected into the bodies of the Society,
  • to start initiatives important for realization of the Society aims, 
  • to perform tasks entrusted to them by the Society bodies, 
  • to preserve the dignity of science and ethics of the profession and advocate realization of the Society aim.
