Training

Beginners Mountain Rescue Course

Course is organized trough lectures, field practice ( in Belgrade and on Avala mountain) and dwelling on field.
Course is considered to be finished after well passed final exam and after one season of working as a lifeguard on Kopaonik Mountain.
Final exams of the course are organized on trainings or on the field (with constant monitoring by instructors), or on special organized exams in certain areas.

Basic subjects that course covers are:

  • Basic Mountaineering skills
  • First Aid and medical assistance
  • Rescuing skills
  • Fitness
  • Skiing

Every year during course for new members, old members have lectures in medicine. Parallel with medicine lectures all rescuers must pass certain number field trainings in order to earn valid license for upcoming season. Finally, only after field trainings, condition check, medicine tests and first aid tests, old members get official document that have valid license for season.

Higher ranked courses

All rescuers that have finished beginners Mountain Rescue Course can, according to their interests, activate themselves on other fields, as well as in other familiar organizations (speleology, alpinism, scuba-diving, paragliding…)

Those persons, after a certain years of active doing those activities, get promoted to candidate for a lifeguard, junior lifeguard, senior lifeguard and instructor lifeguard (in caves, rocks, underwater objects), and as such are obligated to react in their fields in case of accident.

Seminars

Cooperating with other familiar organizations, in our country or abroad, seminars are organized very often, lectures and demonstrations in life rescuing in summer or winter alpinism, rescuing in high mountains, rescuing from avalanches, from caves and holes and from high buildings in urban arias.
