The files in this archive are the only client files needed to use a
backupd server from NT. If you want to do backups from Win95, you need
some sort of shell replacement. My recommendation is to use the tcsh
port from

    ftp://ftp.blarg.net/users/amol/tcsh/

Another possibility is 4DOS/NT, which works great under Win95 as I've
been told.

I don't know the author of the GNU tar port. I found it on

    http://www.itibe.net/virtunix/

in a package named unix95.7.zip. There were no copying conditions and
no sources. I cannot help with the latter, but the tar.exe identifies
itself as GNU tar, so I've added the file COPYING.gtar.

I've tried to contact the maintainer (szurgot@itribe.net), but did not
get an answer.

The port has some problems (see the docs for more info) but is usable
in most respects. If you know of a better GNU tar port for Windows,
please drop me a note.

Have fun!
